I have been seeing James twice a week since he opened Starks Fitness. My sessions with him are both physically and mentally challenging. He has truly inspired and encouraged me to reach both my health and fitness goals, and I definitely feel the benefits of my improved strength, stamina and posture. Along with his advice on diet and nutrition, I now have a much more positive and healthy attitude to fitness. Body composition analysis has also meant that James' workouts have been designed to my specific requirements and areas that need attention. Training with James has been a learning curve and hard work, but it has given me a new confidence in myself and my shape. I have been able to run a 10k and compete in a couple of Sprint Triathlons, none of which would have been possible without his personal training. I actually look forward to my sessions; even when they are early in the morning, or if I have trouble distinguishing left and right, or when I know I may have trouble walking up and down the stairs 48 hours later! Nothing beats that feeling of exhaustion and elation on having achieved and finished a workout.

Nichol and Tommy’s help was exactly what I needed. After 30 years of bad dieting, they drilled it into my head the importance eating properly! They taught me how to get the most out of each exercise, and corrected me until I got the movements right. They also showed me loads of new things I’m able to do at home without equipment. The key things for me were the detailed demonstrations of the exercises; the encouragement to make you push yourself harder than you would alone, and the reassurance you need when you’re exhausted! I started training with Nichol 10 weeks ago, I've been going to the gym on and off for about 7 years, and was most definitely in an 'off' period when I met Nichol! I felt like I was bored and unmotivated with exercise and needed a push. In the last 10 weeks Nichol has made training fun again. She's enabled me to regain my passion for the gym and has taught me new technical skills that I can continue to grow and improve. My goal was to lose body fat and to tone up certain areas of my body, such as my legs. Before I started training in April I had no previous training. Lydia made the training really interesting and I couldn't imagine not ever training again as I now really enjoy it. For me, it's definitely a lifestyle change and I will continue training at least twice a week. Not only did I notice a change visually, I now have a lot more energy. Since training with Lydia I have realised how important it is to use the correct techniques when exercising; especially stretching and soft tissue release before exercise.

After spending ten years working in an office and gaining weight, I became overweight and unfit. When I discovered Starks Fitness on my way to work one day, I made the decision to join the yin-yang body transformation class. The combination of dedicated trainer and healthy diet have led me to drop 12 kg of fat within three months. My energy levels have increased together with my general wellbeing.
